Johan is the 18th son of Tanis and brother of Rachelle. Before Tanis drank the water he was a great singer. Tanis is his mentor at the start of the series but after Tanis drinks the water, Thomas watchs over him. Sometime in the 15 year gap Johan leaves the Forest Guard and becomes Martyn of the Horde. When Justin drowned, he along with Rachelle and Thomas became the first people to drown. He became one of the leaders of the Circle.
