The novel was made into a movie in 2006, distributed by Fox Faith (which no longer exists). The film was directed by Robby Henson, who also directed The Visitation from Frank Peretti and House, another novel written by Ted Dekker.[]
The movie was a bomb critically, with only 5% on Rotten Tomatoes. Thr3e fared better with audience scores with a still-low 50%.
Some may consider the failed translations of Thr3e and House (with 0% on RT) to the big screen as a sign that no more Dekker movies will be made. However, while his books in the horror genre didn't make for great movies, perhaps his fantasy novels will get adaptations. It may seem like a long-shot, but any fan of the Circle Series will quickly note that Black is listed as in development on IMDb.
